Once he was injured it was 'Oh, look at me. I'm crippled. Donate money to my cause." Boo fucking hoo. Where was he before 1995. He was Nowhere.

He had all kind of advantages that no one else in a similar situation had. Nurses, aides, etc. As rich as he was do you know that all of his equipment was state of the art and DONATED to him FOR FREE! Yet the average Joe has to fight tooth and nail with their insurance company just to get stuff half as good. Why couldn't he pay for his own stuff and have the companies give the 'free stuff' to the people that really needed it.

Good points, Gunslinger. However, he did use his celebrity to bring attention to his cause. I commend him for that. He could have easily sat back (no pun intended) and let everyone take care of him and done nothing.

I loved him in "Somewhere In Time", and my cousin could have been his twin back in the Superman days.

Reeves set up several non-profit foundations to help other paralysis victims, lobbied Congress to help other victims with insurance companies, showed how far limits can be pushed, and has been a powerful advocate for stem cell research.

Worm food. And conservatives are mystified as to why they aren't perceived as compassionate. Boo fucking hoo...

Not to mention that in the 80's he used his fame to push such causes as the Special Olympics, The Actor's Fund of America, Special Olympics, Save The Children Foundation, American Cancer Society, Save the Theaters, and is one of the founding fathers of the Creative Coalition.

But hey, he didn't do anything until he was crippled.

Like it or not...often "famous" people are in a position to further a cause because of their celebrity. I'm sure if he thought that he could have made as big an impact without ever getting thrown from the horse...I;m sur ehe would have done something. Of course, ha would not have put the smae time and effort into it as he did after it happened, but to fault him for that is stupid.

You know I have no problem with Gunslinger, and have found most of his posts enjoyable, but the ones in this thread have taken the cake for the most stupid comment ever made, minus 10,000/1, only good muslim is a (refuse to repeat it), and lets turn _____ into glass.

I hope it was just because lack of research on his part.
